Re-Roofing in Halifax
When the whole roof has had it, another patch won't hold. A re-roof gives you a weathertight roof again from ridge to gutter.

Ridgeway Roofers Halifax re-roofs houses, bungalows and extensions across Halifax and Calderdale. The old covering is stripped, the underlay and battens are renewed, and the roof is re-covered in slate or tile with new ridge, hips, verges and leadwork. Call 01422 774307 to arrange a survey and quote.

What a finished re-roof looks like
The photos show a hipped brick house with its new red tile roof, a bungalow re-covered in grey tiles with dry verges and new gutters, and red plain tiles finished with a dry-fixed hip. Hips, verges and ridges are where the quality of a re-roof shows.

What you can expect from us
Plain dealing from the first phone call to the last swept path.
A proper look
We inspect the roof around the problem as well as the problem itself, so the repair goes where the water actually gets in.
A straight answer
You'll hear whether it's a repair, a bigger job or nothing to worry about yet, with the reasons, before you decide anything.
A tidy finish
Old slates, tiles, offcuts and packaging are cleared away and the work is talked through with you when it's done.
Questions about re-roofing
How long does a re-roof take?
It depends on the size and shape of the roof, the covering and the weather. Your quote will include an expected timescale.
Can I change from tiles to slate?
Often, but the roof pitch and structure need checking. Slate and tile have different weights and minimum pitches.
Do I need permission to re-roof?
Like-for-like replacement on an unlisted house outside a conservation area usually doesn't need planning permission. Listed buildings and conservation areas are different, so check with Calderdale Council before changing materials. Building regulations can also apply to re-roofing.
What happens if you find rotten timbers?
We show you what we've found and explain the fix before any extra work goes ahead.
